i just saw a gifset of that scene in the loki series where he does a bunch of random theatrical moves in the hopes that it will activate the time-slipping and all i could think about was 'yes this is definitely the most powerful sorcerer in asgard, the guy who studied his craft for over a millennium' and i just sighed. goodbye loki who was a multi-faceted, fully realised character. hello comic relief loki who does bizarre dance moves in front of another person fully believing that it will activate random mystical powers.
#it's just so jarring when it is directly juxtaposed against the gifset of loki brutally fighting multiple dark elves in hand to hand combat#i get why people enjoy the series#i really do#and i'm glad that they have a series to enjoy#i just wish it hadn't been done to loki#he's been made into a MCU comic relief archetype and it makes me sad#i wish i didn't have so many feelings about it#loki series criticism#anti loki series#bitterness#negativity#will probably delete later

#couldn’t find a gifset to express my love so my paltry words will have to do#i really enjoy how this adaptation portrays the good wives-era stuff#nothing beats 94 for the little women stuff#but i really think this adaptation is under-appreciated#and all the casting is perfect! and it’s so pretty to look at!#dollsome's deep thoughts#little women 2017#i also really like that this adaptation never really flirts with jo/laurie in the way the others do#i recognize that that makes me a weirdo and i accept that!

I need a pretty significant degree of commonality (both subjective and objective) between characters to ship them and I think that's why it's so hard to find f/f ships that draw me in. It's like people making media want to create the polarity that would usually be there through gender by making these women so starkly different that I just become unable to connect.
#like theres always gotta be either super different personalities or an age gap#or a power imbalance or really different experiences values and circumstances and thats just not what im about#and this isnt to say i would like that type of media to disappear because i know a lot of people enjoy that contrast#im just saying i wish that wasnt sooo much of what we have#like nearly all of it#im saying this because i saw a gifset of portrait of a lady on fire which i love#and is one of the rare instances of wlw media where the romance itself really moved me#and i remembered the céline sciamma quote about how it was important to her to have them be#as equal as she could possibly make them down to the heights#and how thats probably why i was able to connect with it so much#and like i love Carol (2015) Dir. Todd Haynes but I don't ship Carol and Therese!#anyway this is my periodic complaint about the lack of f/f friends to lovers#but like real ones not like headcanon ones although even then for most this would still apply!#ramblings#i could say a lot about how this doesnt plague m/m nearly as much and how it all circles back to misogyny but ill spare myself#but heres the thing ill still go ahead and check out anything with lesbians in it and support it and enjoy it in different ways#so this is not an excuse as to why im not contributing to wlw because i AM out there constantly searching#lest anyone think im doing a thing i hate which is people making up excuses not to care about women

Congratulations to Never Let Me Go for being the second drama to get the highest rating from me this year. Currently preparing my mind and body to be insufferable about it forever.

I've actually already started-#(list of things I did BEFORE finishing NLMG tonight:#1. downloaded the episodes to cherish and protect in case the downfall of internet is tomorrow/other disasters#2. bought a replica of Nueng's necklace for the price of two croissants in the not-very-legal market#3. included a shot from the series in a special gifset#4. had heated mental arguments with the people making negative comments about it#5. .......... considered giving FUTS another chance out of gratitude to PP (not sure yet but just the fact that I gave it a THOUGHT-))#//#well now that being said#I'm kinda disappointed there are only 2 new dramas in the annual list that got the ''I will definitely rewatch this'' badge#last year there were 3 BLs alone. not even counting OTHER genres!!! and in 2023 I watched many MORE dramas!!! what is this!!!!!!#was I unlucky. was I going after the wrong stuff. I keep thinking about that.#but there were also a good number of dramas that got the ''I might rewatch this'' badge#and even the ones I didn't really enjoy were important to give me perspective/parameter#so... no time was wasted. and I was doing what I like to do? so I guess it's ok...

I KEEP RE-READING YOUR TAGS ON MY LEMON BDAY SET, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I tried really hard to gif quickly but well lol
as for colour isolation, it’s really about choosing the right scene, a scene that has very little movement so you can basically colour around the character (e.g. the big gif of ep 24 with the quote) and/or a scene with a cool background (blue/purple/cyan etc) so basically you can change its colour without affecting skin tone (e.g. the first gif with Lemon at the beach with the blue sky) I can’t colour isolate all scenes or colour everything to my liking, so I’ve deleted a lot of gifs lol it’s a lot of trial and error!
once again thank you for your kind tags and enthusiasm!!! it really does motivate me to continue creating! also your tags makes me want to continue a long abandoned Lemon and Mash gifset 👀

I think that's the problem why it's difficult for me... because I love making gifs with a lot of movements hahah. But I always adore all the pastel-colored gifsets that I always find in bigger fandom or western movies, so knowing there's been a lack of them in series I watched (mostly underrated ones) makes me wanna create some too! Thank you so much for the advice! I might consider trying it out! I dunno if I'll ever have the time since it's a very daunting task but I'll try my best!

I'm planning on making a few gifsets/edits for the semi finals but I'll probably only post them near the contest date
